Brookes proud to take part in the best ever Cowley Road Carnival

This year’s Cowley Road Carnival, Oxford’s biggest community event, took place on 2 July. With an estimated 50,000 people turning out to celebrate, organisers declared it the best to date.

Oxford Brookes sponsored the event again this year, cementing a long-term relationship between the Carnival and the University.

This year’s theme and inspiration for both the Carnival and procession was ‘Industry and Technology’ and celebrated Oxford’s impressive landscape of innovation.

University staff, students and alumni took part in the main procession along with a largerthan- life robot made from recycled materials. The Brookes Racing Team, with their Formula Student racing car, was also there.

The University also showcased exciting examples of teaching, research and community engagement.
