Our partners in education – Chengdu

Observe spoke to an alumna and a student, from opposite sides of the world and with very different ambitions, who are both using the practical, real-life skills they learned at Oxford Brookes partner institutions over 5,000 miles apart.

Studying BSc Accountancy at Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT), Sichuan Province, China

“The collaboration between CDUT and Oxford Brookes was a key factor for me in choosing this programme. Oxford Brookes Business School has a good reputation in the UK which is a strong guarantee of course quality.

“A UK degree is important for me. More foreign companies will enter China to carry out business. People who are not only familiar with China’s business environment but also good at English will have more working opportunities.

“This course is not only theoretical but also practical. There is nothing more interesting than applying the knowledge you have learned.

“I chose to study accountancy because an accountant plays an important role in society. I want to get a master’s degree in investment management and then seek a position in a big four professional services firm (KPMG, EY, Deloitte or PwC) or in the private equity and venture capital industry.”
