Oxford Brookes’ medal success at the BUCS Regatta 2017

After a year of records, Oxford Brookes University Boat Club (OBUBC) came away with Team of the Year at the British University and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Awards in July.

The BUCS Awards recognise the achievements of athletes and teams as well as acknowledging the contribution from volunteers, club officials and coaches who support and develop university sport.

This accolade followed a record-breaking performance at Henley Royal Regatta in the same month when OBUBC became the first university club to retain the prestigious Temple Challenge Cup. It also won the Ladies Plate, beating the Great Britain U23 crew in a time that was just outside of the course record.

In May, Oxford Brookes became the number one rowing university in the UK after winning a record haul of medals at the BUCS Regatta 2017.
